The Federal Ministry of Information Technology has informed Parliament that additional funds have been allocated in 2020-21 to expand BSNL 4G service.

North Chennai Lok Sabha member Dr. Veerasamy, BSNL lags behind other telecom companies in 4G service, what is the reason for that? Responding to this, Union Minister of State for Information and Telecommunication Devsih Chauhan said that 4G service is being provided to limited areas in India through 8,637 base transceiver stations. He said that despite stiff competition in the telecommunications sector, BSNL continues to retain its customer base and other companies have reduced the fees for their services due to BSNL's competition.
