A former Amazon official has been appointed as the managing director of the Indian currency of the WhatsApp processor owned by Facebook.
Online transactions are currently on the rise in India. Online transactions are made from box stores to large businesses. Most of these are occupied by Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Phone Pay and so on. Meanwhile, WhatsApp Processor, one of the most widely used processors among the youth for texting, officially launched the money transfer service in India in 2020. However it is not as popular among people as processors like Google Pay and PhonePay.
In this regard, Facebook has appointed Manees Mahathme, a senior executive at Amazon, as the Managing Director of WhatsApp Money Transactions in India. Previously, he led the production and engineering teams for Amazon Bay. He has also worked with Citigroup and Airtel.
