Twitter has been sued for misrepresenting the map of India.
Twitter posted a map of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh being isolated from India. Manish Maheshwari, the managing director of Twitter, has been charged under sections 502 (2) and 74 of the IPC following the controversy. Bulandshahr police have registered a case following a complaint lodged by a Bajrang Dal administrator.
Although this is not the first time this has happened, Twitter has caused controversy by uploading a false map of India on its site for the third time in recent months. It is said that a Sokas notice will be sent on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Information Technology requesting an explanation regarding the above irregularity regarding Twitter's activities and action may be taken against Twitter.
Following the controversy, Twitter removed the map from the site
